Three very different works on a church, a factory, and a palace in a small town in Palencia did not go unnoticed by the Europa Nostra jury.

Abarca de Campos is a small town in Palencia with a population of less than two hundred inhabitants. Located in the Tierra de Campos region, its historical-artistic heritage restoration and rehabilitation have not gone unnoticed by Europa Nostra. Private initiative, in collaboration with the Town Hall, promoted three actions aimed at achieving various objectives. The works on the church, which included the restoration of its Mudejar tower and the valuable organ from the 18th century, contributed to its declaration as a historical-artistic monument. The second action consisted in converting the old flour factory into a brand new Contemporary Art Centre, La Fábrica. Third, the palace of the Osorio family, with its noble façade of ashlars and wrought iron from the 16th century, was restored to turn it into a modern concert hall. Actions are destined to revitalize the cultural life in the town and fight against the scourge of the depopulation of the towns of the plateau.
