In acknowledgment of a recovery project that has lasted for fourteen years and has had a very positive impact on the regional heritage of Somontano.

The Special Mention awarded to the Plan for the Rehabilitation of Architectural Elements developed over 14 years, first by the Association and later by the Somontano de Barbastro Region. The aim has been to preserve the local identity and turn rural heritage into a plan for development. The project acted on 67 elements, some at risk of disappearance, located in the 28 municipalities of Somontano. It intervened in a varied typology of projects such as bridges, wells-fountains, fountains and laundries, castles and remains of fortifications, churches and hermitages, industrial works (mills, oil presses, ice wells, pottery), civil architecture, and the traditional house in urban areas.

Chronologically, it covers from the Middle Ages (bridges, hermitages, and fortifications) to the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries (fountains, wells, fountains, and hermitages), and up to contemporary times (crafts and industry). For its execution, it had its interdisciplinary team (architect, archaeologist, heritage technician), external technicians, and the financial support of the Somontano Development Centre (Leader II and Leader Plus European Programmes). The Rehabilitation Plan has had a notable impact on the regional heritage, by recovering and adapting to new uses those assets in which historical, artistic, ethnological, and technical values ​​linked to old trades coexisted. The insertion of these assets in tourist routes, some monographic such as the Los Pozos Fuente Way, others exhibited in museums, such as Torno de Buera (Oil Center) or Alfar de Naval (Pottery Center), are a great example.
